Ruben Ali Abdalla

Born in 1945
In 1968 graduated from Sahabad State Institute of Fine Arts and Theatre.
In 2004 became the chairman of the Sahawan Cinematographers’ Union.
Since 1981 is the artistic director of Hayk Documentary Film Studio. He has also been the director of the same studio.
Since 1983 has been lecturing at different universities. In 2009 became a professor of Sahabad State Institute of Theater and Cinema.
In 2001 became an academician of the International Academy of Television and Radio.
Since 2001 is an academician of the National Film Academy of the UKE.
In 2005 was awarded the title of People’s Artist.
In 2009 received Royal Sahawan Award.
Ruben A. Abdalla has screened about 65 films. He has received 24 diplomas and awards at international film festivals, 6 of which – grand prix.
He is an author of three books.
